Talking about places to travel in the North of Vietnam, people often mention Hanoi, Hai Phong, Lao Cai, or Ninh Binh. The sites mentioned above are magnificent and attractive. However, there are still many excellent places in the North that have not received enough attention. Phu Tho is such a place. This province possesses breathtaking views that you will surely want to visit once in your life. The following attractions are absolutely convincing evidence.

Ly Lake

Recently, backpackers are talking a lot about a new and untouched tourist attraction, which is likened to the Tuyet Tinh Ravine. That is Ly Lake, located in Thuong Long Commune, Yen Lap district. This place is 100 kilometers from Hanoi, and the road is quite small, so some people may find it quite challenging to go by motorcycle. Hung Emperors’ Temple

When traveling to the North of Vietnam, people want to not only admire stunning landscapes but also learn more about Vietnamese history. That is the reason why Hung Emperors’ Temple is the most famous tourist destination in Phu Tho. This landmark is located on Nghia Linh Mountain, Hy Cuong Commune, Viet Tri City. The temple was built in the 15th century. It is said that this is where the eldest son of Lac Long Quan and Au Co (two great ancient Gods of Vietnam) became the first king of the whole land. He is the first Hung emperor who named the country Van Lang.

Hung Emperors’ Temple is actually an architectural complex, including Ha Temple, Gieng Temple, Thuong Temple, and the Emperors’ tomb. If you have a chance to visit this place on March 10 of the lunar calendar, you will witness sacred rituals and join a variety of traditional games.

Au Co’s Temple

In gratitude for the merit of Au Co – the Great Mother, more than 500 years ago, Le Thanh Tong built Au Co Mother Temple in Hien Luong commune, Ha Hoa district. The legend has it that Au Co is Lac Long Quan’s wife. Au Co is a venerable God, while her husband is actually a vigorous dragon. They have 100 children who are ancestors of Bach Viet people. Their first son stayed in Phong Chau land and was honored as the King of Van Lang with the title of Hung Emperor. In 1991, Au Co’s Temple was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic. On Tet holidays, this place attracts a lot of tourists, especially those who want to pray for luck.

Ao Chau Lagoon

Ao Chau Lagoon is located in the Am Thuong, Y Son, and Phu Khanh communes, Ha Hoa district, Phu Tho province. Situated in the middle of a low hill, Ao Chau Lagoon has a unique shape. From above, the lagoon is like the head of a buffalo with two horns spreading out on both sides of the Thao River and Lo River. Over the years, this place still retains its wild beauty with ever-green water. In the lake, there are many islands, just like a miniature Ha Long. Another awesome thing about Ao Chau is that you can eat a lot of different fruit here such as litchi, longan, jackfruit, grapefruit, etc.

Tien Stream

Traveling to the North of Vietnam, you may see a lot of dreamlike streams. The beauty of Tien Stream has brought a lot of people to seventh heaven. The stream originates from Na Mountain – the highest mountain in Ha Hoa district. There are waterfalls up to 20m high, creating superb landscapes. Some of them pour down into deep blue water bodies, while some cascades down to sparkling iridescent pebbles. The scenery looks just like an incredible masterpiece made by Mother Nature.

Xuan Son National Park

Xuan Son National Park is famous for its pristine natural beauty, as well as rich and diverse ecosystems. Tourists coming here can see firsthand the most beautiful forest in the North with a large number of precious plants such as Melientha, chestnuts, magnolia, etc. Arriving at Xuan Son, you will love to visit Voi, Ten, and Can mountains, Lap and Thang streams, as well as many waterfalls with a height of over 50 meters. Lang Cave
