H.H Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar visit to Vietnam
At the invitation of H.E Mr. Truong Tan Sang, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, H.H Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, paid an official visit to Vietnam from Jan. 16-17.
During the talks with the Emir of the State of Qatar, the President of Vietnam reaffirmed Vietnam’s policy to boost ties with Qatar. He said Vietnam attached importance to the development of the relations of friendship and cooperation with Qatar. He also described the Qatari Emir’s visit as a vivid symbol of the fine development of cooperative relations between the two countries.
H.H Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani expressed his admiration at the achievements recorded by the Vietnamese people in national construction and development. He wished Vietnam greater achievements in socio-economic development towards the building of a prosperous Vietnam with a greater role and position on the international arena.
The two leaders underlined their determination to beef up the bilateral relationship, especially in trade, investment, agriculture, labour, tourism, education and training. They exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern and expressed the hope to boost information exchange for peace, stability, cooperation and development.
On this occasion, H.H the Emir of Qatar invited H.E the President of Vietnam to visit Qatar and the latter accepted the invitation with pleasure.
After their talks, H.H the Emir of Qatar and H.E the President of Vietnam witnessed the signing of a number of agreements on cooperation in various fields.
During his visit to Vietnam, H.H the Emir of Qatar also held meetings with the Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
